Mushroom hunt

Recent conditions have been ideal for the start of the mushrooming season. We went on a mushroom hunt around the allotments after last weeks rain encouraged growth of the fungi in the still warm earth.

Children enjoyed briskly rubbing the seeds from the head of the sunflowers to put in a pot to dry ready for planting next season (although they couldn’t resist planting some now).

With the blackberries we picked this week the children squashed to make a paste, then used their fingers to paint with.

A lovely visit from PCSO Sarah Pilcher to see the children and answer all the questions they had for her.

Remembering and celebrating the life of The Queen with the children this week we watched the video when Paddington met the Queen and listened to a poem.
