Learning a craft

Walking to the allotments on Tuesday the children stopped to observe and talk to the men about traditional craftsmanship used to thatch a roof. At the allotments children enjoyed jumping off of boxes, helping to develop their gross motor skills, and planted spinach, using their fine motor skills. After measuring how tall the pile of bags were for our Bags 2 school collection the children had a great time at the play park.

In the garden children used hammers to smash chalk to a powder, then added paint powder to the mix. Indoors, the bouncy castle tempted children to do more jumping. make stickle brick models and manipulate playdough.
