Children love hiding places and clambering in and out of spaces, so a box they can fit inside is an ideal space for play. With infinite possibilities for play, the opportunity to let their imaginations go wild and the added bonus of helping develop their practical skills, the box was used well and almost lasted the week.
With milder weather this week we managed to go to the allotments three times. Jumping in puddles, planting tomatoes and admiring the horses were just some of the activities the children enjoyed.
Back inside the children were proud to share their learning journeys with their parents, looking at all the photos of the activities they had participated in during their time at pre-school. Other activities included making ice cream using playdough and sunflower seeds, making cards, filling baskets with cereal and playing with the farm set.
