How to get in and out of a hammock

This week the children learnt how to get in and out of a hammock safely. To get in, sit on the hammock, swing your legs up without folding the hammock over and encasing yourself. To get out, sit up, place one hand on the hammock, one leg on the ground, prepare to dismount and fall flat on your face.

Other activities at the allotments included using our listening ears for sounds, there were relatively few, a horse snorting, birds chirping, the church clock chiming and a distant ride on lawnmower. We also used our skills at peeling carrots.

At pre-school we played a number game, saved others from sliding down the slide, manipulated construction vehicles, arranged magnetic letters, played musical instruments, pushed cars along tracks and printed with carrots.
